Swiss-SASEM’s DBA, Doctorate in Business Administration program is offered to professionals who wish to accomplish their managerial studies through research and applying practical aspects to learning for the future. It provides a flexible and independent alternative to traditional higher degree studies and is based on research and specialization in areas of professional practice.

The student must terminate the research methodology course, which will give him a narrow groundingin both, qualitative and quantitative research methods, and assure rapid progress in the completion of the program. Set of DBA seminars, which are updated and modified each year, are offered throughout the year to support candidate’s learning objectives and successful research process.

Entry Requirements

To enroll on the Swiss-SASEM DBA program, applicants must have satisfactorily completed a master’s degree program or obtained a level 1 or 2.1 honors degree from recognized universities with 4-5 years of professional experience or have a very significant and outstanding executive business experience which may be deemed as equivalence by our DBA admissions committee. Applicants whose native language is not English or who hold a degree in other languages must demonstrate proficiency in English; all prospective students must provide:

  • Completed and signed application form

  • Motivation letter

  • CV

  • Two recommendation letters

  • Master degree (or relevant extensive experience)

  • Proof of English proficiency

  • Two identical passport photographs

  • Copy of ID (passport or identity card)

Fees & Funding

Fees and related-costs are as follows:

Admission Fee -  CHF 1'800.00 

 

Immersion Seminars in Switzerland CHF 4'000.00

per seminars (4 optional seminars)                                                                                                     

 

DBA Program and Tuition Fees - CHF 5'330.00

per term (9 terms / 3 years program)                                               

There are some expenses that are not covered by the program fees, and all students will be liable for these as appropriate: Health Insurance, Accommodation, Transportation, Social activities/trips, Photocopying costs, Books, etc

Duration: 3 years under full-time study (9 terms) or 3 to 5 years part-time study. The maximum time to complete the program is 5 years

Program Outline: On admission on the Swiss-SASEM Doctoral Program, candidates will be asked to attend the 25-hour Swiss-SASEM Research Methodology and Project Design module to ensure that candidates are well-versed in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, the philosophical approaches in research as well as commence with the design of their research project. In addition to the contact hours students will have to do extensive reading around research and the topic of their research.

In addition to this course, students may be required to take optional complementary modules depending on their needs.

Thesis Proposal: Candidates are expected to submit a Research Proposal of 2’000 words explaining the motivation behind the research, its context, the hypothesis, initial research plan and potential contribution to business and management research to the Academic Director and Swiss-SASEM Rector who will then appoint a Thesis Adviser.
